Today, I sent a formal letter to Senators @AlexPadilla4CA and @SenSchiff urging them to withhold their blue slip and stop the confirmation of Bill Essayli as U.S. Attorney. He has shown a pattern of political retaliation and targeting vulnerable communities.

Juneteenth continues to beg the question, what does it mean to be free and liberated from the vestiges of slavery and dehumanization in thoughts, word, and deed? Today's political climate is proof we have more work to do to unshackle ourselves and build solidarity.
