No snow is rough on the north woods economy. Birkie is the largest XC ski race in NA w a huge economic boost to the region. Resorts, hotels, bars and merchants hit hard w no snowmobiling or ice fishing too.

Should be skiing this week but rain has destroyed the XC ski trails here in northern Wisconsin…with only ten weeks until the American Birkebeiner ski races. We are transitioning to road running in the drizzle and fog this morning. #Birkie #Korte

Wife (not so much here) and I are fellow travelers (3-dozen trips to Europe (mostly German-speaking Europe)) simply trying to be helpful. Feel free to unfollow and/or block.

That's a cultural "thing" all over Europe. If you want table water (not bottled/no cost) simply ask for "leitungswasser". You might get a weird look...or shot down...but it doesn't hurt to ask.

The quilted bed topper makes up for it. We’ve adopted it here at home.
