Now we just need people to stop trying to sell you their map.

I've been unimaginatively calling mine "Untitled Project". Your approach is better.

What do people use 2.50 euros for these days? A bookmark?

Me too :-) Every time somebody dumps a meeting invite into my calendar I have to ask, "Why? Why do you want to take this time from me?"

I'm so sorry to read this. The pain is never ending for parents and children. I hope you can find a much better and more compassionate alternative.

She might want to coordinate thoughts and feelings about the project and see if you think and feel similar to her. She might need support for the project, but maybe also just in her life right now. She might be gauging if she can trust you enough to open up. #armchairpsychology

Makes sense to me. Emotionally salient event that is then discussed, deliberated upon, and some sort of resolution/understanding is arrived upon - it's the autistic experience. I'm sure it's similar to why those with anxiety can find horror movies relaxing. This is my armchair psychologist view.

I chuckle because I've had similar moments. I used to collect little frog figurines when I was a child, and a visiting aunt bought me what she thought was one. I handed it back and told her it was a toad.

I know the feeling. It's like your brain is going, "What? Are you kidding? Let's let some astral bodies realign and then we'll try again."

That's a pictoral metaphor for the mind of any writer worth their salt.

It seems to be an image problem. The Dems aren't connecting with enough of the electorate. If only appeals to reason resonated more than fearmongering and clamoring for the moral high horse. Appeals to truth don't seem to be enough. The Dems also need to connect with Gen Z.

:-) I used to get annoyed that neurotypicals would chat for 40+ minutes in the office about "work", but if I read a book for 40 minutes I'd be wasting time.

It sounds like you've been at least half way there for quite some time.

I agree. LinkedIn is a giant toilet. There is more truth on dating apps and less sanctimony on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

I wondered this the other day. Nice to have it confirmed :-)
January 30, 2025 at 6:42 PM
I hope you can get those things :-)

It's about time coffee companies paid you to substitute "coffee" in your posts with the name of their brand. Missed opportunities.

I don't know. Lilith and Frasier may have just had a conversation.

Can't decide if "Obligatory Saturday" should be the name of a stripper or a cocktail.
January 18, 2025 at 8:01 PM
I can relate. Every time I meet new people, typically colleagues at this point, I almost start a countdown in my head for when they're going to be annoyed with me.

I, too, have had people react to me like I have the emotional capacity of a stone. I think extroverted allists struggle to get the immediate validation they need from autists, and then blame them for hurt feelings and pride. Whatever, my parents hugged me.

That does seem like what the abyss would say back :-)

Also, I just so hard autistic laughed that my stone exterior nearly shattered.
