It being a setup and there being value in knowing what was actually said are not anywhere close to mutually exclusive.

Uh, ok. I would strongly disgree if your point is there is no value in being able to articulate and understand what was said leading up to this and what the arguments are.

6) Z rhetorically asks, after citing Putin’s untrustworthiness ‘what kind of diplomacy is that’
7) Vance takes offense, accuses Z of not being thankful
8) Z essentially says you would want this sort of reassurance too if Russia bordered you
9) Trump said don’t tell us how we feel and we’re off

3) since Putin has been untrustworthy Z is asking for a security guarantee, not just a cease fire (which I get why US would say no to)
4) Trump/Vance say but all those broken agreements under Biden/Obama, we are different
5) Z cites times between 2017-2022 it happened in Trump’s first term…
