God I forgot Medvedev won that one. The early 2020s US Open was so fucking weird lol

I think it's either him or through some minor miracle Medvedev or Rublev fix their brains for several consecutive matches. If they weren't fully insane I feel like both could have several majors

So sick of ruud and rune. I've never felt for even a second that they were close to winning a major, even if they were in semis and finals

I agree on Fonseca, he might make a big leap. I've watched Fils a few times too and been unimpressed but I probably just caught him on bad days. Other than young guys (I like Tien a lot too) it's like Bublik I guess? Med or Rublev? Tiafoe or stef turn back the clock? Blah

Many, maybe problems, but they do genuinely want to keep to themselves. Amish 1, mormons 0

As a child growing up in the Midwest I thought mormons were like the Amish and as an adult living in the West the reality is significantly worse

I've read roughly 4 of them and seen at least one movie but pretending you didn't understand an obvious Harry Potter reference is a top tier bit. Maybe your best bang for your buck for making other people feel foolish. Plus then you avoid a Harry Potter conversation

Where is its head?

I see why people don't like it! I'm surprised I don't see more backlash, I'm sure tons of people think it's corny. As someone else mentioned, I like that it actually has some structure.

One thing I'm sure we can agree on is that it's infinitely better than the average social media viral poem.

I will bravely stand up in this thread and say that I think it's pretty good. But also my poetry taste tends toward treacly garbage.

Among vaguely koan-y slightly embarrassing poems I like, I'd rank it above The Two-headed Calf and below Mary Oliver's most famous

That's my favorite part lmao. I love the implication that an equal number of children are loved and drowned in lakes. I think it's intentionally a little joke
