What a misleading way to summarize this article. Xenophobes trying to drive out foreign students have no interest in "reducing reliance" they don't care if they're depriving colleges of a resource they rely on

Also the headline sucks, article says new enrollments are down 17%

Anarchism as a practice of striving to imagine a better world unconstrained by the "common sense" of the status quo and committing to pursue that outcome is great. It's also not a policy platform, and bad things happen when people confuse the two. The Zapatistas seem like they're doing it fine.

He's been good at generating coverage so he has relatively strong name recognition, and there are a substantial number of establishment Dem folks who would like him to be the frontrunner. Open Q's on if he keeps support vs active opponent & if he can convert insider preference to public support

Well yeah, now that you've told us all the secret name it's easy. Otherwise we would have been chewing on that one for months.

I'm with you that the vast majority of this issue is comms. (Also a lot of anger about past moderation decisions burning through trust)

The joke in question is obvious enough I don't think the mod burden is as high as you're describing. But 3 day ban is nbd & bad comms is what got everyone riled
November 14, 2025 at 6:38 PM
If people are mad about a 3 day suspension that's goofy.

I think a lot of people are mad about Link & the fact that zero tolerance is not a real moderation policy because they will always make reasonable exceptions for someone so everyone has tons of examples to wave around & yell "hypocrite" about

This is not to say the distinction should be US legal true threats vs free speech doctrine. The responsibilities & resources here are very different.

But the "zero tolerance" approach is a disaster & forces bsky into obvious double standards for important accounts further undermining credibility.

Don't know about this specific picture, but there's definitely an AI Instagram reel of the same jacket (watch the straw rapidly change length at the end) www.instagram.com/reel/DQt2RNu...

Hilarious to include Vermont in that

Would be an interesting test if someone who did have something injurious posted about them sued. We'd get to find out if "posted a huge pile of unedited AI output as fact" counts as reckless disregard for the truth

Big mommy uses the control to sap you of your youth and energy, just like squeezing milk from a cow. Google "Big Mommy Milkers" to find out more

Not an expert but unfortunately employed doing work like "make it so users can operate our app via chatbot".

I'd do it post llm. Even something naïve like "hyperlink capitalized words that exactly match other article titles" would probably work okay. I vote design choice/Elon is cheap.

I've had to give "this unit test mocks 100% of the code it's claiming to test" comments on too many code reviews to want to try it myself. Especially because the people submitting the PRs are (hopefully!) already removing some of them.
