The buttons actually are the same as the Pokemon card version, just smaller. They are third class levers, and at the end that's in the middle there's a bar that runs horizontally that has aluminum foil on it. There are nails driven through the levers, and when it's clicked it hits the aluminum bar.

That's a good question actually. Maybe next time you make it, just freeze like a single serving and test it out the day after
