I mostly rant about Bay Area teams (49ers, Warriors) and bloviate about how the MLB has ruined one of the best franchises in sports history (The Oakland Athletics).

I also have been known to argue with MAGA from time to time.
Her apologizing should be applauded. it’s exactly what we should be asking everyone to do.

its only been 10 games but they are just so unathletic. It takes such an effort to score, they consistently look small slow and not confident against like every team lately

Plus, a lot of Mamdani's most socialist aspects of his platform aren't used in Scandinavia. They have to pay for busses and there aren't any state run grocery stores over there. Plus Z's bus platform doesn't even really make sense.

I mean I would also not be mad at a more robust healthcare system. But broadly advocating for Scandinavian style government would also have downsides that a lot of young people would absolutely hate.

I don't disagree they could miss the playoffs, but they're in a battle with CAR, CHI and MIN for the 7th seed. You kind of have to give the niners a shot especially if they eventually start to get their starting offense on the field.

They briefly mentioned it last night but I don't recall it coming up outside of that? Feels like a typical new-era season of Survivor to me!

If - and it's a big if - the 49erss still are able to make it to the postseason, you would still have to kind of like their chances against anyone outside of Philly, right? For some reason, I feel better about Kyle's performance as an underdog. How many folks gave them a shot in '21?

To me, it comes off as immature and bougie to blame an Uber driver for missing a flight. A normal person might self-reflect and think 'I fucked up'. I don't really care about the timing and whatnot. We're responsible for the actions/decisions we take!
November 6, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Wild that these two just keep getting strung along week to week for going on 6 weeks
November 6, 2025 at 12:22 AM
Wouldn't the mature thing be to blame yourself for poor planning rather than shifting the blame to this poor dude stuck driving for Uber? C'mon man. You couldn't have taken BART?

He did say they were a threat to public safety…

I don't live in New York. I wouldn't have voted for him in the primary because I don't think he's going to do a good job running the city.
November 4, 2025 at 11:00 PM
I'm not saying give up. I'm saying he's going to have to actually work with the NYPD despite the fact that he hates them and they hate him, for example.
November 4, 2025 at 10:23 PM
It's not a dictatorship. The guy has to work within the bounds and parameters of what it means to be Mayor of New York City. It sucks that it works this way, but there are non-governmental groups that can be a real fucking pain in the ass of anyone, let alone the city's first-ever socialist.

His core voter base is white, rich and educated:

Will this 'organization of socialists' start winning other elections?
November 4, 2025 at 9:14 PM
to be clear once big Z won the primary, that's who I'd be voting for today. but I don't necessarily feel great about his ability to run a city.
November 4, 2025 at 9:05 PM
He won because white hipsters voted for him en masse and the democrats - for some insane reason - threw their weight behind Andrew fucking cuomo
November 4, 2025 at 9:03 PM
The far leftists miss almost every point that is to be learned from election outcomes. One guy they like wins a mayoral race in freaking NYC and they are acting like we're on the verge of socialist takeover. He won because he's handsome, charismatic and spoke to the issues!
November 4, 2025 at 9:00 PM
He's probably worth at very least a 2nd right now. I bet they could get a first if he ends up winning a playoff game for them.
November 3, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Look - it would be great if she could endorse him. Her race (against a Republican) is kind of getting too close for comfort. Mamdani - while exciting and personable and generally likable - is very unpopular outside of NYC. If she has to publicly criticize him to gain support, isn't that NBD?

I’ll have to take a look at this, thanks for passing along

Why does Substack suck? it seems like it’s a pretty cool way for writers to get paid for great work.
