The thing is I never talked about feeling warm fuzzies towards Bungie. When I say "people at Bungie" I mean the devs working on the game, not the leadership. Thought it was obvious, but it requires an explanation it seems.

So the Marathon team is full of worthless individuals? What a take, man

Does this mean Marathon will be a resounding success? No, but it shows it is different from Concord.

Being quick to discard the game with some broad generalizations is not a good faith effort and I think undermines the work people at Bungie are doing.

And I don't remember any of the big streamers thinking too highly of Concord.

With Marathon most impressions I've seen are good. If the wom will be there at launch, people will jump in.

Also, being paid is not an issue IMHO since stuff like Hunt Showdown and Tarkov are all paid and are doing fine

It doesn't come with the PSN requirement on PC that Sony games usually have, it's fully multiplat and, most importantly, Bungie has worked for years with some of the streamers they invited to the event.

With Concord, Sony did none of that and it was force fed to streamers through paid ad streams

It is true that people may be more careful with supporting Sony GAAS, but Bungie is pretty much its own thing within SIE.

I don't think most will instantly associate Marathon with Sony, the Bungie and Destiny association comes much more easily. Wether it is a good one or not, it's up to the player

I disagree, this is just more of the same reactionary impulses I keep reading online, there is so much more nuance to this than just "Sony trained people for this" which is ? by itself.

Indiana Jones, Metro, Spiderman, Ratchet & Clank, DOOM, Avatar, SW Outlaws are some games where RT looks very good on consoles and can even run at 60fps. Agreed on UE5 tho, all of the games mentioned above run on custom tech.

Yeah, it's exactly how it's seen in some circles. I find it baffling though, there's countless examples of games (from PC to consoles) where RT can make a huge difference.
