We have loads of partridge pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata) this year and are expecting a bumper crop of cloudless sulphur butterfly caterpillars.

My buddy Honey, whom we lost last year. He was FIV+ after living on the streets, but was able to adjust to life as a house cat together with our 2 younger, FIV-negative cats. He was the sweetest boy, and I miss him.

The purple passionflower is blooming now. This gorgeous native vine is the host plant for the Gulf Fritillary butterfly.

I spent some time this afternoon digging carpet bugleweed out of our yard. Turns out our neighbors have it growing all along the fence line, along with liriope. Ugh. 😖
