Happy Monday! I'm smothering with a heavy cold but Dawn @chaptersbookstore.bsky.social has brightened up my week by sharing my poem Tiny Treasures over on Instagram. I wrote it about my mother-in-law Aileen who died almost 10 years ago and it was a lovely surprise to see it online this morning ❤️

It's nice to see so much love online for Michael D Higgins. Sadly I never got an invite to one of his many tea parties in the Áras but I did meet him once after a Beckett play in Foxrock. And myself & my mam met Sabina Higgins in Farmleigh in 2014 at a One Dublin One Book event for If Ever You Go❤️

It's 2 years since the launch of my chapbook Traces in Pearse St Library - such a special evening with family, friends, neighbours & work colleagues all cheering me on😍 It still amazes me that I published a book and I am very proud of it! If you're thinking of doing it yourself I'd recommend it.

For the weekend that's in it...a precious photo of me with my dad Tommy at the top of our road in Raheny during the Dublin City Marathon (1983 or 84). It was around the 20 mile mark and dad and all the other Raheny Shamrock runners got great support when their green t-shirts were spotted!

When I published Traces I didn't know if I'd sell 100 copies but I'm down to my last box of 50 which means over 500 copies are out there in homes & public libraries💜
