I'm so so excited for this book! In a time when we need more light and (obviously) more rainbows, Lindsey's luminous writing is sure to deliver.
BIG NEWS! My narrative nonfiction book, (Out) On the Road: How Queer Travel is Different and Why It Matters, will be published by @igpublishing.bsky.social. I’m thrilled to bring this book into the world at a time when it can help so many LGBTQ+ folks.

sure, it's women's day, but she, 'wife of' 'succumbed' to a disease. He 'persisted' for probably a week without her care but ultimately died. in basic language. in society. women are objects. men are human.

Cause of Betsy Arakawa’s death was hantavirus pulmonary syndrome while Hackman died of heart disease, with advanced Alzheimer’s disease contributing

$2 trillion in tax cuts for the top 1%
paid for by
- 243,265 of my neighbors losing Medicaid, including 84,922 children and 28,000 seniors
- 121,000 of my neighbors losing SNAP
- 13,000 people with ACA coverage seeing a 105% premium increase

So today, I'm boycotting, not giving billionaires a dime.

Trump’s second coming can’t be understood without turning our gaze outward, toward a broader geography of U.S. state violence.

So, we know the creep cabal has no regard for facts - even when delivered through an independent entity. But. As a non-fed, I found this report on government agency efficiency enlightening. Spoiler: #USAID is highly efficient.

Has Your Nonprofit Been Affected by Federal Funding Cuts? We Want to Hear From You.
The Trump administration is slashing federal grants. The New York Times wants to talk to nonprofits that have lost funding — or fear they might.

...have been trying to update 'robber barron' for these 21st century techie oligarchs. Thought I was onto something with lootocrat, but now all I can think about is *the* Luda, and how he doesn't deserve to be in this mess.

What do you think?

A little light for these dark(ening?) days - the Hudson Valley Foundation for Youth Health awarded $75K in grants this year. Each invested in the well-being of young people in the community. Here's to #philanthropy moving $ where it's needed in 2025!

5 years of covid + still grief.

“We’ll be reciting the Mourner’s Kaddish at 1-"

“Of course, anything,” I answered.

20 minutes to brush up on the language I never learned, reflecting the faith I never ascribed to. But yes. Anything meant anything for my lifelong friend and her now-departed sister.

Writers - can we come up with a better way to call out the 'elephant in the room'? I regard the rituals and lunacy of elephants much too highly to invoke their name IRT the orange fuhrer. Thx

OK, not a paid gig and not a major byline - but stoked my letter to the editor is raising awareness. HR 9495 is a menace to #nonprofits, would let Treasury kill orgs for 'supporting terrorism' without proof or due process. The fight has already begun, don't wait for January. Call your reps!

As I (we?) rebuild community here on Bluesky it feels important to (re?)introduce myself. I'm a queer writer who shares urgent personal essays in service to others. To date that mostly looks like work stories - like my viral, 'best of' piece on work addiction for Salon: www.salon.com/2021/09/04/t...
The sobering truth about quitting my job: I was addicted to high-stress, nonprofit work
When I resigned without a backup plan, I didn't realize 4 million workers had just done the same. I can see why now
