Went to Vanderbilt’s castle, The Breakers, today in Newport. It was both opulent and gross and built on the backs of the working class the family abused to gain wealth. The original Gilded Age did not last long. Let’s hope for the same for the 2nd GA that we’re experiencing now. Billionaires blow

Created a vision board of positivity, of joy, of love, and resistance. I am committed to kindness and compassion, to empathy and justice. I will be present on difficult days. I will help others and fight injustice. I will be strong. I am a light warrior here in the moment when I am most needed.

I completely understand. I keep trying to convince myself it can’t be as bad as I think. But I’m not so convincing. I dropped a note on a clootie tree in Ireland asking for help. I’ll share it with you. :)

Portal tombs and standing stones in Scotland. If only they could transport me somewhere safe, fun, so I wouldn’t be part of the next four years in the US. Part of the resistance but truly unnerved by it all. The wait before the storm.

Spent some time at Newgrange in County Meath Ireland. An amazing passage tomb. Stepped inside. Looked up to see a 5000+year old stone roof; it has never leaked. Sometimes it’s good to remember the marvels and miracles in life, especially in trying times.

When it all seems too much, you can escape with a little Yeats and the faeries 🧚🏻. At least until you’re ready to fight again. We need you.

“Come away, O human child! / To the waters and the wild / With a faery, hand in hand, / For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.”

“The fates of individuals are shaped, in some significant measure, by the silent shrouded stories long concealed in the deepest parts of their hearts. They are the stories of collective trauma and great unresolved passions, of near escapes and no escapes….They are the stories of…class warfare.”

For no particular reason, a sacred grove in West Cork. Ireland is full of these gems.

I am reading a terrific book: “All the Light We Cannot See.” In fact, I spent most of yesterday and last night reading it. It’s that good. That’s it. That’s the post. I just wanted to share this gem with fellow book lovers. This is a good one, ya’ll.
