Is 23-24 too far removed to compare likewise results with the level of churn in squads across the prem since then? Also can you guess who was 3rd this weekend two years ago? Couldn’t remember it was them whatsoever. Were first btw.

If this was the first game of the season, with that back 4, let alone the 5th game of the run we were on, we wouldn’t be remotely surprised if we dropped points. Honestly think this game can be easily compartmentalised. Especially for the players once the boys come back.

Maybe having experienced the collapse in 02/03, 49th game, Paris 06, league cup final 2011, the peak of the Banter Tears 2012-2018, rise of AFTV, seemingly unable to win an away game against top 6 for a decade & others I’m sure I’m forgetting, (oh the 8-2 duh). We’re one Saliba from being totally 👍

One of those didn’t deserve to lose, maybe not enough to win. Send anyone to villa park missing their first choice CBs they’ll struggle. Just felt we had little control that in last 20 minutes. Yeah, this last 5 game block of games, sneakily very hard.

The only thing I can think he meant was one win in 18 years between 2002 and 2020 when Auba scored that penalty. 2006 being that solitary win. Think he creates a disadvantage by bigging up some of these game way beyond the occasion. Like his obsession with anfield.

There was 20 different ways in which he could’ve answered that question & he deliberately leaned in to the shit stirring aspect (which was also nonsensical). Everyone seems to gloss over how he was rather dismissive & insulting towards Mikel in answering the question as well. Bizarre carry on.

Oh yeah totally, I avoid the overlap like the plague as well, was hard to escape that particular ep. He’s prob a nice guy but his particular flavour of analysis wouldn’t be my cup of tea either.

It’s worth checking out his appearance on the overlap, doesn’t push back once against any & all media narratives (the infamous Nwaneri not being allowed to change in the men’s dressing room one from carragher). He also does so badly in a quiz I almost died from cringe.
