I am an American and I have canceled any trips out of my country for 2025, and possibly 2026, due to embarrassment and also the justified resentment that people all over the world may feel towards me as a citizen of the USA.
I simply don't have words to describe this shameful situation.

I sow in discarded plastic containers, making them mini greenhouses.
With direct sowing, in my garden, the tender sprouts are just food for wildlife.
Using the 'winter sowing' or mini greenhouse method I have never had a fungal problem, and germination is close to 100%.
