Sometimes I watch a movie that's so disappointing it makes me think I shouldn't be so hard on myself about whether my folk horror stories and ideas are any good. Rewilding from 2023 was that movie tonight.

Just finished Guillermo del Toro's 2025 Frankenstein. I loved it. Visually gorgeous. In major deviations from Shelley's novel, the monster perhaps finally got the treatment that lived up to his angst in the book. The humanity his creator lacked.

Classic movie night. Dracula from 1931 and Frankenstein from 1931. If I can I'll add Bride of Frankenstein from 1935. I have to get up early tomorrow or there would be more.

Not even close to showing the thousands of people who were at my local protest! The best part was during the march, when a kid who was about 5 took advantage of a lull in chanting to lead the chants himself!
