This Boomer is a Mayflower descendent whose ancestor died at Valley Forge… my great great grandfather served in the Union Army and my dad spent his 21st birthday on an aircraft carrier in the Sea of Japan. I will stack my patriotism against theirs any day. #NoKings.

This is the most decorated soldier of WWII - he was 5’ 5” and weighed about 120lbs. He was underage so his sister signed to allow him to enlist. He spoke openly about suffering from PTSD . He became a movie star… his first role was in Red Badge of Courage as a young soldier who ran from battle

My response to them is to highlight the most decorated soldier in history, Audie Murphy. A 5 1/2’ tall skinny kid who became a movie star and went public about his PTSD.

They see John Wayne as the model of the tough guy when he finagled his way out of serving in WWII, when It was this guy, Audie Murphy, all 5’5” of him who was the most decorated soldier. He also went public with his struggles with PTSD.
