@carolleonnig.bsky.social "knows almost nothing about the actual investigation." Come on. That's ridiculous. Leonnig has won THREE Pulitzers. And it's ESP. outrageous & insulting for Marcy to make such sweeping personal attacks & proclamations when she won't even deign to read Leonnig's book! 7/ END

If you're looking for examples of when Marcy has disparaged legal commentators, politicians, journalists, & academics (not to mention other random accounts), I can dig some up. Suffice it to say that there are PLENTY. For now, here's just one from earlier this month in which she claims that 6/

Then, Marcy posted a reply to @airbagmoments.bsky.social's reply, in which she referred to the person who made the original post (me) as a "dumbass." Note: I'm posting a screenshot of her reply because if I directly quote her, there's a good chance that will unleash a tidal wave of her 3/

According to Marcy Wheeler, anyone who’s concluded that Garland moved very slowly on Jan. 6 is a dumbass. Ya know, people like @ericholder.bsky.social, @weissmann.substack.com, @gtconway.bsky.social, @tribelaw.bsky.social, @adamschiff.com, @carolleonnig.bsky.social, @ruthbenghiat.bsky.social, etc.

I think Marcy missed my point in this tweet, which was that Lula’s then-Justice Minister Flavio Dino began criminally investigating the political LEADERS of Brazil’s coup attempt less than a MONTH after it happened. He wasn’t obsessed w/ “building a case from the ground up.”

The contrast between Merrick Garland and Brazil’s AG the past five years couldn’t be more stark. Amazing what can happen when a country has an AG who cares more about ACTUALLY following the facts & the law wherever they lead than keeping his “apolitical” halo squeaky clean.

Memories... In light of the recent revelations that DOJ was essent. doing nothing to directly investigate Trump's myriad traitorous crimes during Garland's first 15 months as AG, I recommend listening to this @thedsrnetwork.bsky.social that orig. aired on 2/4/22.

@gtconway.bsky.social says he was wrong about Garland & that Garland's decis. to wait over a yr. to directly investigate Trump was "huge... malpractice on a scale that is off the charts" & "one of the worst decisions ever made in the history of the American justice system."🔥

For me, @gtconway.bsky.social's interview w/ @carolleonnig.bsky.social & @byaaroncdavis.bsky.social is both soul-crushing & cathartic. FINALLY a prominent legal commentator admits the truth that so few have been able/willing to confront: Garland was a catastrophic failure.

Recall that Merrick Garland PERSONALLY saw to it that DOJ spent >2 yrs. arguing that Trump's rape jokes about @ejeancarroll.bsky.social were part of his official prez. duties, but he saw no reason to intervene when the the feds in FL let Matt Gaetz walk for sex trafficking.

DOJers have a stunningly smug & naive “we’re the good guys” superiority complex. Many clergy, police officers, etc. have begun to confront the fact that their friendly coworkers can be sadistic monsters in other contexts. It’s LONG past time for DOJers to do the same.

If federal prosecutors were so concerned that this 17-year-old girl wouldn’t be a credible witness, why were they able to charge Joel Greenberg for having sex with the very same girl?

The destitute 17-year-old girl who Matt Gaetz paid $400 to have sex with him twice used that money to buy braces. F**king sick.

Yes, Maxwell committed perjury. But so did DOZENS of officials during Trump’s first term. Hell, <6 weeks into Trump 1.0, it was ALREADY being widely reported that multiple members of his Cabinet had lied under oath.

And how many were prosecuted by Garland yrs. later? ZERO.

To be clear, I'm well aware of Josh's views on Israel/Palestine. I profoundly disagree & have tried to engage w/ him directly on the subject on more than one occasion.

And yet some Democratic politicos are trying to convince us that if we elect a Democratic trifecta in 2028, THIS time they will have learned their lesson and will ACTUALLY see to it that elite traitorous GOPers are held criminally accountable? 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Hey @markjacob.bsky.social -- if you're interested, I heard that for Black Friday, @joshtpm.bsky.social will be offering memberships to his "Durbin is the Worst" anti-fan club for 50% off!

At first glance, it looks like Trump's latest pardon list includes nine of the names on my old "Garland DOJ Criminal Indictment Checklist." Spoiler: None of these nine individuals were ever prosecuted by Merrick Neville Chamberlain Garland's DOJ.

What a shocking revelation that Trump would do nothing when another person has a medical emergency. Seriously – it's been crystal clear exactly who Trump is for years & years. Yet Americans STILL decided to vote to make him their president a SECOND time.

It's a no-brainer for DHS to ignore the Fed Records Act. As Trump 1.0 came to a close, @normornstein.bsky.social & others repeatedly warned fed. employees that they'd "be prosecuted" if they destroyed records. Many did so anyway – & then Garland's DOJ did absolutely nothing.

I feel like I've heard "there MUST be criminal accountability" before. @normornstein.bsky.social? But AG Garland didn't prosecute the sadistic sociopaths from Trump 1.0. So why should I have ANY faith the NEXT Dem-appt'd AG (assuming there even is one) will be any different?

@nytimes.com decided to have Jeffrey Toobin — the guy who wrote this despicable op-ed arguing that Merrick Garland shouldn’t even investigate (much less indict) Trump — review @carolleonnig.bsky.social & Aaron Davis’s book about Garland’s failure to timely investigate Trump?
