The last few times I've been on my evening walk, I've taken a route by the river between Saltney and Chester which is quite secluded. Since no one else is around, I've taken my radio with me and managed to have at least one QSO on either 2m or our club repeater MB5HR. #amateurradio #hamradio #hamr

Whilst these days, I may sadly be very out of practice with my Cymraeg, I do still retain enough to appreciate puns like this #cymraeg #dysgucymraeg

Last week, I activated the #sota summit of Moel Gyw. This time I was going to give #23cm a proper go and I could see a few others had similar plans.

Hasn't the weather been great recently? Had a nice day out yesterday to Tatton Park, then headed home via Snugburys for the best ice cream.

So, following some bad times with #23cms and a #sota summit on the previous attempt, this time I activated Penycloddiau. Just the included PCB antenna connected directly to the SGLab transverter.
This worked far better and even without putting an alert out or […]

This photo was taken with great anticipation, just before finding out that a log periodic antenna, an SG-Lab 23cm transverter and a SOTA summit aren't a good combination.

Strong out of band signals (probably mobile phone networks) meant full scale QRM unless I […]
