From what you've tested and described, I agree with oNoise that it might be a power issue. The XLR (I assume) draws more power than cheaper mics, and it only happens in games when your power is higher. You could try putting the pc under load with a benchmark to confirm its power related.

The run was fantastic. I literally watch gdq solely for your appearances, and you haven't missed yet. It was full of great and informative commentary, the jokes between the couch and you were hilarious, plus the tricks were all there! And come on, the manual version of words on stream was so unique.
