I agree re FFP. The trouble is Brighton got promoted in the 16/17 season. The leauges were much closer then. Us and Burnley have proven in recent times that it is very difficult to play styles that worked in the past or play "pretty" football and compete. A rebuild, free of FFP shackles will be good

It's a tough one, long-term plans vs. short-term reality checks. I wished it had worked out better for RM, but now it feels like another complete reset is needed in the championship next year. Hopefully, any future promotion is met with much more astute pragmatism on and off the pitch!

I never expected wins galore this year and always thought we'd go down, and was fine with that, but I expected at least an honest showing and thought we'd have a go. So far, we've seen barely nothing of merit, the one league win we had, we played so bad we should have lost 🤣

Hate being so negative, but it utterly drains me, I'll always love and support the club, but all the miles and expense, and I'm just numb to it at this point. Mates, colleagues, and family members are all constantly ripping into the laughing stock we are and who can blame them. They're spot on.

Same, I try not to be too pessimistic, but it is literally draining supporting this club now. And the worst part is that it looks like we're going to go down in such embarrassing fashion, that we'll be left in crisis disarray at the start of next season and will just continue to spiral in the EFL.

If we were to get an unlikely result from the game, the narrative and fan mood would switch again. It would need all 3 points I feel, but Sunday would be a huge momentum shift if we were to get a win. Fingers crossed.

Yes and no I guess, I'd love nothing more than for us to stay up, make the Signings we need and build on that to establish ourselves again as a solid PL side. But let's face it, that's not happening this season. Plus, it'd be nice going back to actually enjoying the odd Saturday every now and then 🤣

It isn't as bad as people making out. We've been OK, started well. Both sides giving the ball away a lot. Villa just look the more dangerous when getting chances, which is no surprise. There is still a chance to get something from this game, as long as we come out and apply the pressure.
