In this study led by Carlos Herrera @cmhmaliani.bsky.social, we describe three new species of Andrena. The intensive survey over 27 years at the Cazorla range demonstrates the importance of this genus in the pollination of the flowering plant species in this area.

Springer Nature journals failed to assign references correctly in many articles, incorrectly linking to the first article of the volume, thus misleading citation statis.
Researchers pay up to €10,000 to publish in these journals, often public money. Reviewers do not charge

'Andrena solenopalpa' is unusual within its genus due to its long mouthparts.
It exclusively visits 'Lithodora fruticosa' flowers, probably being a textbook example of adaptation. Does this adaptation mean higher pollination effectiveness?

Two endemisms from Sierra Nevada, 'Colletes schmidi' (male) and 'Reseda complicata', both generalist species, observed at 3100 m a.s.l. Although restricted, fortunately both are in good conservation state, unlike many other species in this area.

'Hoplitis sulayr' (Megachilidae): a newly discovered bee species in the mountains of Cazorla and Sierra Nevada (Spain) that specialises in visiting the flowers of 'Onosma tricerosperma' (Boraginaceae). This discovery highlights the great diversity that remains to be discovered in these ecosystems.

This kind of reading makes the field sampling season even more appealing.
I 100% recommend this @waspwoman.bsky.social book to appreciate Hymenoptera and in particular wasps even more!
