Writer, CFer and mischief-maker. Loves food, travel, rugby, cycling and my very annoying border terrier.
Also a good example of why so many Edinburgh cyclists are cynical about the Roseburn Path changes. No real trust that necessary diversions or alternative routes will be well planned, well communicated, or well implemented.

The only weather that stops me cycling across Edinburgh is the 🧊... and I am all the sadder for it.

This is a picture of the infamous Morningside Yuletide Joust of 1933, where Morag Mackenzie famously toppled the reigning champion Fanny Campbell after 13 tilts of the high horses.

And when you've watched Canada women, the speed of play of a men's international will forever feel disappointing 😅

Visiting Copenhagen currently. Just cycled along the 'Snake Bridge' installed because planners noticed people carrying bikes up and down a set of steps. A bitter sweet experience thinking of coming back to painted lined and perpetual discussions of if bike lanes have a right to exist in Edinburgh.

I've no idea how the SRU managed to screw up a heritage blue and white jersey but someone should be getting a serious talking to.

You must have seriously offended some publicans if they're widely throwing you out of pubs at 11pm in Edinburgh.

As a proud citizen of the Late-Opening Republic of Edinburgh, it always seems such a massive sacrifice of my rights under the Magna Carta that English pubs try and enforce last orders at 1045 when I travel to the barbarian lands to the south.

Really like this improvement overall, but does feel like a bit of a shame there's a gap connecting along Slateford Road further towards Slateford/Chesser, and down from the canal route somehow improving the busy route/connection on Ashley Terrace for bikes.

Such a great crowd atmosphere too, couldn't have asked for a better climax to a fantastic world cup. 🌹

You could delete and Minniemize the visibility?

This was fantastic, really enjoyed watching it and hyped to be at the final this weekend... Even if I'm a Red Roses fan who is a little bit scared.

So good. So joyous to watch.

She even parkoured over a ruck. God-level insanity.

The chaos. Oh the beautiful chaos.

Am I going mad, or is the sound mix on the broadcast really weird? Feels like background noise is muted!?

Used to love this route as a quiet, safe route to Patina Bakery from the canal. Last time I did it with friends with two kids on an ebike. Permanent closure and steps alternative rather take that option away.
