I'm just J-T. I'm a lead elder, a husband, a dad, a grandpa, a Celtics fan, a Linux user (since 1997), a vim / LaTeX guy, a hot sauce maker, a Michigan Wolverines fan…you know, just J-T. I serve New City Church in Grand Rapids.
But how would we quantify that on the cards we have folk fill out at our events?

Some will wrap a gift and hide it in a closet, never to be actually given.

Alan Kreider's book "The Patient Ferment" is really helpful thinking through this. In short, the early church didn't have a strategy for outreach; they simply loved one another and loved their neighbors. Without love there is no mission!

Thanks!

I have a few years less experience but in pastoral ministry. I've discovered that if one is unteachable there is nothing I can offer him / her. Zero. Zilch. Such a person may well be able to learn, but if the person cannot be taught, it wouldn't matter what I—or anyone else—said or did.

I'm thankful my GenZ daughter was there to explain the entire thing. I'm still unsure what I witnessed, but it seems like a big deal.

Bacon and eggs is a perfect meal. Same with bacon. Same with eggs. Together, though? And then add SAUSAGE? Oh, my. The eschaton has arrived; the new earth has come.
