OpenAI's new open source models on crates.io -> crates.io/crates/lmcpp

I pushed the update, but... This model is NOT ready. The safety issue. Chat template. llama.cpp completions seem broken.

Oddly, it does work in the web-ui, which is available through the crate. Rambles though.

One line of code to download, build, and run Llama.cpp.

Another line to download a model and run a completion.

It's never been easier to integrate an LLM into a #Rust project.

Llama.cpp in a crate. Sounds simple, but I went hard. UDS instead of HTTP (blazingly faster than Ollama). *nix, win, and Mac + Metal, CUDA. Build from source or install bins. And the types... the server CLI struct alone is almost 1k LoC...

I know there is a doctor out there, a general practitioner, named Tina who has had an interesting few years.

Hope everything is good G.P. Tina!

Working in javascript recently and…. How do people do it? Lack of types is scary and significantly slows down velocity. “Use typescript!” Sure. And tests? Why ship of theseus the way into making a modern lang? Why not use go, c#, or rust from the start? #go #csharp #rust

It's crazy how quickly LLM as a service models degrade in quality after their release - either by our perception or downgrading resources after release benchmarks.

O3 started out near O1-pro, but is now on par with Sonnet

I think people miss that the "vibe" in vibe coding is a warning and a pejorative - see vickiboykis.com/2024/05/06/w... from @vickiboykis.com

You say "Agentic AI"

I say rule based workflows.

You're smarter ....... because you got seed funding.

There is a bug in for iphone that makes muting notifications in group chats with an anrdoid user impossible. The only fix is disabling ALL notifications for messages.

That a UX crisis level bug like this can exist for a year makes me realize just how fragile Apple's dominance and position is.

Open Source Software just got a thank you in an Oscar acceptance speech. Flow, a wordless and magnetic meditation on survival from the perspective of a cat won best animated film.

Blender, the OSS the movie was made in, got a “thank you” by name in the acceptance speech!

#Ollama but all #Rust with #Dioxus!

This is a PoC meant to demo the llm_client crate - for example O1 style reasoning and "deep search" is easier to explain with a GUI!

$1 to anyone who can install #DaisyUI without #NPM like you can do with #Tailwinds....

I want to keep my rust project npm free.
January 27, 2025 at 7:53 PM
NPM or build.rs?

I just set up my projects build script to download the tailwind binary AND recompile the CSS style sheet on changes.

Now i have a modern CSS framework in my little template based HTML project without adding NPM. Neat!
