Old guy, plays sax (a bit) & electric guitar, composer/arranger, makes backing tracks, writes sonnets, wrote two books.
Wars, climate crisis, dismantling of democracy, widespread lies; what a mess. Apologies to the young.
I saw live tv coverage of Obama taking questions from a huge hall of German university students for maybe two hours. The questions covered global issues & more local issues from across the world. His every answer showed knowledge & understanding. No evasion. I’ve never seen better from a politician.

I used to subscribe to have a bag of roasted speciality-coffee beans sent to me each week (their choice). Kept some of the bags. "This coffee ... " is text (slightly compressed) on a March 2020 bag of BOLIVIA BEBETO MAMANI WASHED. Before we drank the coffee, I'd read out the text on the bag.

This coffee starts with chocolate, with just a hint of red apple peel mixed in.That sweetness keeps going, but shifts towards soft brown sugar on the finish. The delicate fruit hints also shift at the end, leaving an unusal aftertaste that reminds me of lychees, but pulls you back for more chocolate.

I've a US-made machine that automates the pouring, and I set it to use water at 93 degrees Celsius, which is better than boiling water for the beans I use.

I can misunderstand posts. I thought that the image of Franklin blasting "narco-terrorists" had been created to mock Hegseth. (The first time I heard Ann Coulter, I thought she was a brilliant comedian spoofing the rabid right.)

Fair comment. Countries with proportional representation and, election results permitting, democratic socialist governments still have capitalism though. I would want the advantages that markets can bring; regulation is needed to have & retain such advantages, and markets don't belong everywhere.
