Saw the Victoria Vistas in CSL action there in...early 90s. Always great to have a downtown stadium, bonus if it's historic!

Made it up to Superga this morning. Worth the trip to pay respects to this iconic team in the lovely setting that proved fatal for them.

Went to the Haws win at Edinburgh Uni. Uni a very weak side, could go down and down again. Haws didn't break a sweat. Delicious cakes for sale in the Uni cafe at halftime!

Thanks for writing, Mark. I remember reading about this and the later Munich air tragedy in books as a kid, but I'd forgotten the details.
I'm going to Turin in a month, so will hike up to the memorial on Superga. I've heard the old Grande Torino stadium is restored and worth seeing too.

Was just talking about the Orchard today! Good spot for pub food and handy for softball in summer. Formerly the Northern Bar for a long time.

Agree. SFA updates to the Scottish Cup pages lacking in general. I think this was just announced yesterday though, and maybe the Celtic SM team has the weekend off?

Hibee legend. Can't be many club legends who never played a game for the club!

I'm exploring too. The other site is getting insufferable but I do still enjoy a speedway nostalgia pic there.

Superb pic from the prime of British speedway. A few seasons later his kid brother Neil would be trekking up to Edinburgh every Friday night in a Citroen Safari, maybe the same one! Great memories of the Monarchs at Powderhall.
