Anne Applebaum’s very negative critique of Trump’s (Russia’s) proposed (big bad - truly horrible) “peace” plan. If Ukraine fails to agree to it by Thanksgiving, Trump will end U.S. arms sales to Ukraine.
Cui Bono?
Who benefits from Trump's deals with the Russians and the Saudis? Not us

Another excellent essay by Paul Krugman. A health instance primer 101. Easy to understand — even for your MAGA friends and relatives.

600,000 Americans died during our 4-year Civil War. Trump has killed 600,000 people in just the first 9 months of his second term through his devastating cuts to USAID. And he has 3+ years remaining. WHO ever thought a U.S. president could be so cruel and heartless.
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Matthew Yglesias provides a dose realism about Mamdani’s agenda and the challenges of a progressive mayor in NYC.
Now comes the interesting part

The super-rich get richer, while regular workers get laid off. Same as it always was… We need a new Teddy Roosevelt to bust these corporations up.

Tariffs on China caused China to stop buying U.S. soybeans, which severely hurts farmers. But hey, Trump will probably send them all bail-out checks. Plus he still owns the Libs, which they love!

Krugman provides the most insightful assessment of Trumps destruction of the east wing of the White House and the architectural — gaudy, gold-laden, pompous— style he’s proposing. You must read this!
