You can’t control whether its done before or not (as nice as that would be). Most often people learn lessons from failures, and people (not just men) learn heartbreak and loneliness only from the absence of love they’ve already received.

You are 100% right, but that doesn’t mean relationships don’t help. The issues Galloway discusses aren’t him blaming male loneliness on women, but rather him explaining that men in our society struggle developing emotional intelligence more, and a strong fix for that IS a romantic relationship.

And who do you think is most capable of teaching these lessons? The systems young men have less and less trust in? Whole its not women’s fault or problem, romantic relationships are a strong way to teach men empathy and emotional intelligence.
