What I Want for Mother's Day I wrote this early this morning after being unable to sleep. I sent it to my family, some of who I haven't spoken with for quite some time. Bear that in mind as some of the content was originally intended for a very specific and intimate audience. What I want for Mother's Day I don't want chocolate I want the mother violently torn from her family May 8th in Worcester, MA Reunited with her family and safely home Not trafficked to for profit prisons to be exploited I don't want jewelry I want Merwil Gutiérrez returned to his father and safely home Not kidnapped and trafficked to for profit prisons to be exploited I don't want a nice meal I want Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia reunited with his family, here, safe at home Not shipped off with no chance to plead his case, which would have revealed the grave error on the part of the assaulting party Oh, yeah, they just want whatever body to exploit, innocent or not. I don't want you to get all gussied up and go to church Like Jesus, I want you to do unto others as you would want them to do to you. Love your neighbor . Welcome the foreigners. Like them, we too are in a foreign land. Remember, our ancestors came from across the ocean. They too were oppressed by the greedy wealthy class. Have compassion on your fellow human. For soon, when they have exploited the "easy pickings" they will surely come seeking more to exploit, for their greed knows no limits. While I no longer call myself Christian, that title has become like filth in the States due to the actions of those who call themselves as such. I do agree with the teachings of Jesus. Teachings of compassion, empathy and helping your fellow human. I don't want to feed the corporate greed, the capitalist machine, to be just another body to exploit. Apparently, there are a couple 50501 protest times & locations to choose from. The more the merrier! Here is one I found on the 50501 official site & there is another time & location circulating here on BlueSky for later in the day 3pm - 6pm at the Henry M Jackson Federal Building.
