I am a fan of this modern wave of brutal / slam death metal that's been big lately.

I fucking hate that I know exactly which band this is.

Yeah, Thantifaxath definitely feel much more rooted in black metal. They have the chaos of DsO or Dodecahedron and the electronic tinge of Blut Aus Nord at the very least.

They are also awesome, at least based on their last one. I haven't heard their debut, but greatly enjoyed Hive Mind Narcosis.

Their most recent, Goldstar, is by far their most "accessible" album (As far as their style is concerned) and possibly their best.

Vile Luxury is where I started with them, I have not looked into anything from before that. Perhaps they did have more black metal in their sound before then.

I do agree that they have a DsO influence, though I'm not sure it goes beyond using horn instruments and chaotic song structures.

Ideally, it'd be Stardust Racers as #200 and #201. Sadly, while there is a small number of credits I could get locally, there just isn't quite enough to get me there without traveling.

Hell yeah! That's an awesome ride to have as #100. I don't remember if I notated my 100th coaster. I'm coming up on 200 and hope to get it soon.

But I like those vocals.

I say it's like the vocalist is shouting down the hall into the recording booth.

Sulphur Aeon use them to great effect.

Rhys the Redeemed is perfectly acceptable as a mono white card or a mono green card in both design philosophy and usage should the rules change.

Regardless, in a mono-white deck, Rhys is still a green creature and vice-versa.

Also, if Rhys is a Commander himself, he is two colors.

I could see the new Yellow Eyes maybe working its way on to my list.

This year has been great for black metal in general. There are like 20+ albums outside of these that I would consider worth listening to.
