Tax crime costs our economy multiple times more than benefit fraud, but the government targets the most vulnerable in society by trying to restrict disability benefit.

This is pure bullying!

Have lots of thoughts re new Ofsted framework, as you might expect,+hope to write about this today. But one intial point: I don't think this is biggest change in 33 years of Ofsted, as HMCI says. 2006 reforms, drastically cutting length of reports+visits,+introducing four grades, were far bigger.

What do we want? Trans rights!
When do we want them? Now!

I’m shocked by the Supreme Court ruling, to not even recognise trans brothers & sisters with Gender Reassignment Certificates is a disgrace.

Even Turkiye recognises transpeople with Gender Reassignment Surgery. The lack of compassion & empathy is astonishing.

Sick of hearing Labour Party people boosting about how many people they have deported since they have come into official.

Deportation maybe something that may be necessary at times, but it certainly should not be something to be proud of.

Inflation at 3%, with wages in the private sector growing faster than prices. 📈

How can the government justify an unfunded 2.8% pay rise for teacher? 💷

- More cuts to our children’s education 🚸

- Deeper crisis in teacher recruitment 👨🏼‍🏫

There are examples of Harris recruiting overseas teachers, trapped in unqualified teacher salaries for 5 years and not paying their relocation costs, all whilst their CEO earns £500,000 a year.

High stakes assessment forces teaching to the test means teachers are finding it more and more challenging to engage young people in their learning. With the curriculum and assessment review, government has a chance to change things for the better.

If the public sector are going to strike over pay, they need to fight for a three-year settlement. Both the government and the trade unions need to have a more strategic approach to pay settlements.

Trade unions say proposed pay increase is an ‘insult’ to millions of public sector workers
Unison, the BMA, Unite and the NEU have all said a 2.8% pay rise next year isn’t enough

The 2.8% does nothing to restore our pay, but even worse this small increase is not even funded!

I think this new government may need a dose of NEU strike action to bring them to their senses. ✊🏽🪧
The Government has proposed an unfunded, 2.8% pay increase for teachers next year. Instead of continuing Conservative austerity, the Government must fully fund the above-inflation pay increases desperately needed to value, recruit and retain teachers and school leaders. neu.org.uk/latest/press...
