yeah reading/writing jp, especially kanji is rlly annoying and stupid. easiest and best way i found myself learning to read/write jp is probs kanji garden, which while not as fast as duo, its not as time consuming as anki

imo, as someone who tried to use duolingo to learn jp and had a 800 day streak, it's really not all that useful to learn from. watching dramas and anime are pretty fast and easy ways to learn from my personal experience
