Yes, back then it was possible to take action against it, but the process was very well hidden. I wrote a tutorial on my website at the time explaining how to do it.

OK, I've done the math. The Texel density for a 512x512 map is 64 and the wall is 4.5m x 3m. Interesting 🧐

what a coincidence. I'm currently studying it too. According to my research on the internet, I found out that they used 256 and 512 texture atlases. I'm currently trying to find out how they kept the texel density constant. It would also be interesting to know what scale they worked on.
