Yes! And buy them with skin on and bone in if it's cheaper— bones can be used to make a broth for other meals and the skin can be fried into a quick snack. A 2 minute youtube tutorial teaches you all you need to know to de-bone.

Adding to this, garlic powder, onion powder and soy sauce are cheap and can instantly make any dish tasty on a budget. Buying in bulk always helps. Lemon juice and parsley flakes can make plain chicken and rice into a restaurant quality meal.
