Speaking as one of her victims, it gets so tiresome to see people start up these massive guilt-by-association games based on weird and arcane knowledge they have and assume that everyone else has.

(The rumor mill is also another problem, but that's for a different day)

Different times/circumstances, I guess. Once your final draft is passed to the editors and then the publisher, it's out of your hands. All you can really do afterward is quality control of things like the audiobook. I'd much rather do that alone than in the car with others, though.

That... actually somewhat makes sense, in a weird way? Like, if I ever publish my books (which assumes I finish writing them), I'd want the audio version to sound the way I envision them when I read them.

But still, really odd behavior lol.

I can hardly stand to read my own writing after long enough - the perfectionist in me goes mad with "I COULD MAKE IT BETTER!" How the hell did your dad listen to his?

If we focused even a hundredth as much energy and planning into public transit as we do into our military, we would have perfectly operating trains and buses.

Oh god, I am so glad that trains are one thing Utah did right. I love that I can just catch a train that will take me just about anywhere I need to go in northern Utah, for a pretty affordable price, too. It's one of those things i take too much for granted.

That's unfortunate. If you ever do find one, I'd love to see it!

I want to get a physical copy of The Emperor's Gift, but getting an actual physical copy of that would cost me more than an entire army of Grey Knights! (the lowest I can find it for is $120!)

This is how it is for me lately. I am pretty sure I've got more books in my closets and some boxes, but I wouldn't be able to tell you what they are.
