thats how LTS distributions work, you get stability at the cost of not having the latest features, if you dont want this problem use something like fedora (alternatively you can use something like nix but it does a lot of things and not all of them very well)

Nushell is cool but I stopped using it since some update broke my configs and Im too lazy to set them back up. Besides posix shell + awk can do most of the same stuff with the added benefit of not choking on non-ascii input (as well as being more tightly integrated into the posix environment).
