Personally, I think the US should go further than that. Your Congress should pass a law requiring every home to have portraits of Donald Trump, in every bathroom, in rolls of 100, quilted for extra softness.

That's kind of my point. It's like saying the most masculine attribute is blue eyes. If it's as likely to exist in the female population as the male one, it can't be any indication of masculinity or femininity.

That's a pretty stupid thing to say about respect, love, and compassion. They're not gendered attributes. A thing can't be both masculine and feminine, so if love, compassion, and respect are the pinnacle of masculinity, then they don't exist within the feminine purview.

Hegel is like scripture. After the fact, everything can be explained by it, but I think if you asked him how a real time global information network would turn out, I'm pretty sure he'd have worked out its antithesis pretty quickly.

Other opinions exist

That's a valid point, I just don't like to see science dumbed down for popular consumption. But I guess that's better than nobody consuming it. I don't do compromise very well :-/

As I thought, the actual study makes no such connection between IQ and empathy. Also it seems to assume that being human = more intelligent than non-human, which is a bit of a leap. Thanks for posting the link to the study. Scary how science is reported in popular media...

Not sure I buy that at all. I'd need to see the paper. I would expect a lot of overlap between the intelligence of the two populations. Human brains can manipulate symbols in a way that other primates can't. That isn't about intelligence any more than breathing underwater is.
