All online platforms have a duty to ensure they’re not safe havens for criminals to target children.

Services that adopt E2EE must also adopt upload prevention, ensuring that known child sexual abuse material is detected & blocked before it can be shared.

Charities warn the threat of sexual extortion against children is ‘not diminishing’ as new data shows cases have risen 72% over the past year.

Boys are at particular risk, with reports from this demographic making up 97% of confirmed cases seen by the IWF.
