Oddball call: The Chamberlain

The monuments from the Star Islands in TotK were written by a chamberlain following the exploits of Rauru, Sonia, Mineru, and Zelda. Considering their service to the royals, I imagine they could be a Sheikah.

All wild speculation. But sometimes speculation is fun!

BotW lore for Vah Ruta talks about its namesake being in love with a Hylian Swordsman. Again, yes, originally a reference to OoT's Ruto. But if the names carry over... Just saying it's a possibility. It's also a way to have a Link without having Link.

Why might they have those names? The masks. In the TotK cutscenes, all the sages wear masks that correspond to the Divine Beasts. It makes sense they could have the names as well.

If this is the case, that leads to another link. Or rather, a swordsman.
