Thanks for the help documenting this stuff! As cozy as #ZineMonth can be, I think it's important to remember it started as a direct attempt to help free small creators from feeling obligated to fund on Kickstarter and expand the options available for taking a zine from "written" to "produced."
I posted a short narrative by @jayembosch.bsky.social on the origins of Zine Month and the different February zine funding events that are now an annual tradition in the #TTRPG hobby space. It's mostly his account, but I did a bit of further research and recollection to round it out.

Thanks for the help documenting this stuff! As cozy as #ZineMonth can be, I think it's important to remember it started as a direct attempt to help free small creators from feeling obligated to fund on Kickstarter and expand the options available for taking a zine from "written" to "produced."
