It wasn’t that pleasant to eat either, but the blood reminded her that she was in fact hungry, and the scent would attract other unwanted attention. One snap and it was gone. The next two rodents that passed her met the same fate. Well, the edible ones at least.

Mustering all of her strength, she launched herself in that direction. And fell to the ground with an unceremonious thump, whatever it had been that had been restraining her falling behind her. It was all a little too familiar. She was in that place again. Somehow, they had found her again, and that irritated her no end. She was going to have to do a better job at hiding herself. No breeze this time either, no open window. Her captors had obviously worked out how she had escaped last time. That just meant that she had to find a different way out.

Frequently mentioned, but rarely see, this is the first time that the Ageless Queen gets a scene, and it's all about remembering and memories. Of who has been in her life, of what they meant to her. And perhaps her significance to Crystal and Rachael.
