Hello world! I'm researching the involvement of children of the majority population in the forced assimilation of Romani in Norway. This photo (1904) shows some of these children busy making prizes for a bazaar. The money they made would be invested in orphanages and work camps targeting Romani.

Men da Den katolske kirken trappet opp kjønnskrigen, måtte Monica Astorga forlate klosteret.

Excited for this! I'll share some work-in-progress from my thesis about how interwar debates regarding nature vs. nurture were communicated to children through fictional conversion stories.
Looking forward to the next session of our seminar. Idunn Victoria Rostøl, visiting us from Oslo this term, will be talking about "Conversion Narratives Featuring Romani in the Children’s Missionary Periodical Maaltrosten (1903-42)"; join us in person or online, Monday 10 Feb, 11-12.15 GMT
