I agree buy out made him cheap at 30 mill & gave him choice, contrast Duran bought just turned 19 cost about 15 million, had already scored goal of the season v Palace by the time he was 20. Delap 8/12 older at 20 on loan @ PNE. At 21 joined Ipswich for 20 million at 21 Durán had been sold for £65.

Emery churning the bottom.. quality of our back up increased massively yr on yr gouging points previously left out there (Bizot/Olsen, Lindelof/Carlos). Malen, Barkley, Guessand impact limited. Emery wants height through spine. Emi/Pau/Mings/Rogers/Onana + Tammy.. increasingly set piece proof

He’s good but lots to do before he will become an established England International. Contrast Duran who has/had the potential to be world class, all the natural talent but none of the application. Delap doesn’t have that but I agree we won’t know how good he can be until he’s used properly

Played well against us for Ipswich, a good fit for Emery’s system. Always thought would regret move to Chelsea. Madjo likely well ahead re development at same age, ? Back to back FA Youth cups? Delap a bit part in a good Euro winning Eng U19 side although key improvement now finishes well.
