He's crying a trail of blood, as vampires in dnd in his book were described as crying blood. Behind his back he's holding a wooden stake, its handle laced with black gold and red thread (Same as daggers of an assassin group within Barovia.). Its also tied to the elf's hand by the vines that are keeping him and Strahd entwined. This is Jander Sunstar. The stained glass is a sun with the symbol of Lathander from Dungeons and Dragons overlapped with a moon that within it is a small simple verison of Ravenloft, the castle of Strahd von Zarovich. Infront of the moon are stylized orange lillies, butterfly weeds, and black Dahlias. Blood drips from the symbol of Ravenloft onto the head of Strahd. The flowers surrounding them are marigolds and red spider lillies. The flowers on the vines are red tulips, black roses, yellow roses, orange lilies, Yellow Chrysamthem, begonias, snowdrops, cyclamens and petunias. A close up of the first drawing, because the artist is very proud of this piece. Its a close up on Strahd and Jander, to try and highlight the lighting upon both of them. Jander's bronze skin has a slight speckly affect to it as if to mimic metal while the lighting on Strahd is more smooth. So why these flowers? orange lilly, black dahlias, and butterfly weeds on the stained glass has the meanings of hatred, disdain, pride to the extreme, betrayal, sadness, and sad remembrance/Let Me Go. Black roses: The Black rose is one of the most popular flowers with a well-hidden meaning of revenge and hatred. It also represents the end of a career or a relationship. Yellow roses often convey bright and happy thoughts and represent positive feelings of warmth, but they also represent negative traits of jealousy and greed. Yellow can also be a symbol of cowardice, sickness, Yellow Chrysamthem: Neglected love, scorn red tulip: the negative meaning of the red tulip symbolizes aggression, anger, danger, and wrath. Begonia: Caution Snowdrop: Renewal/rebirth Cyclamen: Love but also Goodbye Petunia: Anger resentment I admit I looked up meanings on the internet so some things might be incorrect but I really wanted to draw flowers that would mean a lot about who these characters are and their relationship. Flowers are hard to draw.

Its taking place at night with the full moon barely visible above on characters head but mostly hidden behind trees. Theres a fire happening off screen to the left that's lighting up the dark forest. In the front right trying to leave the canvas is a terrified half elf whose crying and grimacing with visible shivering lines. Their back is to the viewer and they are reaching for a dagger at their hip. Their hand is covered in blood. The drawings based off the short story "The Quiet Place" from Realms of Magic, a faerun/dnd anthology book that's hopefully still on the internet archive.
