A coffeemaker that takes voice commands via Alexa hardly qualifies as "AI".

Besides it's a dumb idea. You still have to go to the machine to place your cup, and pick it up after brewing. I have no problem pressing a button in between.

Over here, 24 °C is a common room temperature, and considered pretty warm for a bedroom.

That's not what this test demonstrated. It only showed that on a short course that heavily favored an EV, the Tesla lost.

That's an impressive 10g acceleration.

The styrofoam model of the mosquito is the arthropod equivalent of the spherical cow.

@howiehua Don't you think that's a bit excessive for a normal conversation?

Why do they have to learn it in that order? Early in school we had to learn the 10x10 multiplication table. I was relieved to see that I only had to learn half of it!

The units are missing on the whiteboard.

My physics teacher always deducted points when I forgot to write down units to an answer. And rightfully so. Carelessness about units makes Mars Landers crash.

Sort of agree/disagree. You are implicitly adding units to these numbers. It's 8 [sets] x 3 [repetitions/set]. Since they are different units, it matters.

If I calculate an area, it doesn't matter whether I do length x width or width x length.

Yes, but if we make them from sturdier plastic, they'll last a year and we'll have new ones around next Christmas.

I'll pass. The car horn is plenty of communication for me, thank you.

Wait, we're talking about THIS Indiana? A state that voted 58% in favor of Schtroumpf? These threats are his way of saying thank you?

But that's exactly what happened, mid 19th century. Electric vehicles were successful, until ICE vehicles took over the market.

Not arguing that current EVs are the way forward, though.

Silly mathematician. Chemical reaction rates approximately double for every 10 °C temperature increase. 350 °F = 177 °C. So we'll need to increase temperature by 10*log(14400)/log(2) = 138 °C. Together that's 315 °C = 599 °F.

Hey, wat toevallig. Of hoogstwaarschijnlijk ook niet. 4294967295 decimaal is 2^32-1 oftewel 11111111111111111111111111111111 binair.

That means we're now at the point where manufacturers start cutting corners to reduce the price. Expect reduced lifetime in future generations.
