Rewatching @ruha9.bsky.social #acrl2025 keynote to ingest better & found the Monica Westin article she cites: "While the popular history of the internet valorises Silicon Valley coders . . . many of the original concepts for search emerged from library scientists. . . ."

I've hit the worst part of any conference: achy head and exhaustion. The fancy term is "overstimulated," but I call it "if you look at me wrong, I will cry." See you in the morning, all. #acrl2025

I have done other things at #acrl2025 besides haunt the exhibit hall. My highlights so far have been the keynote by Dr. Ruha Benjamin (if you were inspired, read Imagination) and Kevin Sebastian's presentation reevaluating information seeking models in the context of "AI-mediated research."

Best #acrl2025 swag: Pick up a knitting project pouch (or pencil pouch or whatever) at JSTOR and the coolest stickers at Springshare, and then hit the APA booth to answer trivia questions to win a tumbler. Yes, I came to learn. But free shit? Also cool.

The best way to attack a big exhibit hall is to hit 2-4 aisles per day and embrace delusions about the number of ARCS that will fit in your suitcase. #acrl2025

Broken backpack zipper and snowy weather aside, I'd call this an auspicious start to #acrl2025 .

Dang, Minneapolis, I got here a day early for #acrl2025 so I could find something fun to do and you're going to snow on me? Rude.

Looking at the schedule for #acrl2025 is a bizarre reminder that proposals were accepted before ~all this~. It's surreal.
