Perhaps the best for either side is for him to prove 2024 is who he really is and increase his value. With that being said… Man, I’d just love to see him play forever this team. I’d love to see the Jays really try him at 3B next season. The guy is the heart and soul of this franchise.

The thing that concerns me is that we don’t know how he’ll fare next season. Sure, he looked just as good - if not better - as in 2021, but what if he once again plays like 22'-23'? Sadly, a 1B with a ~125 and less than spectacular defense (according to advanced metrics) is not worth 400+ MM.
