"...Out with lanterns, looking for myself".
Translating, manga (primarily shoujo/josei and dramatic BL), occasional old anime, pot plants and flowers, minerals, Japanese and Italian culture
I also haven't come across any interview with mangaka where she'd explain the origin of names, though they feel Latin based to me (like Tetia, Olruggio, etc.) Would be curious to know. I know Hungarian isn't Slavic, I meant languages like ukr, rus where manga translators literally used "kifli"

Now I seriously started thinking about etymology of his name since manga clearly has European-inspired aesthetics. And you know what, I prefer it to be a mini bread :D In English/Italian they use "Qifrey" but certain Slavic languages translators chose "l" sound in his name so that fits lol

I know people interpret things differently. But surely not THAT differently *facepalm*

I remember listening to this manga-based BLCD drama, the plot is solid and characters are very well-defined so I'm cautiously optimistic. And I love ballroom dancing as a theme 🥰

I wonder if Yuki Midorikawa herself knows the backstory of her characters or she's just going with the flow. I'm kinda fine with it but sometimes curiosity is stronger and I really want to know

He's intriguing. His past personality feels similar to Natsume's but now he's much harder to read. Yeah, I'm still waiting for any Nyanko-sensei (or rather Madara) clarification, but nope. We just keep on waiting 😇

Wow, almost half a year late. Since I don't use this service I don't know their policy regarding bonuses and DVD specials, but it feels kinda weird that they missed out on that

From what I can see, it was released in April this year. And in some sources I can see people's comments dating months ago. But it's never too late, I loved it, since I'm intrigued by Natori. He's my fave after Natsume himself

Is it about A Love Too Captivating? In this case there's also a TV anime special which adapted a couple of chapters so I guess that could explain a certain number of eager awaiting folk. But "eagerly awaited" is still an exaggeration for titles like that 🤭

Karaoke Iko! (Let's Go Karaoke!) I mentioned it in my last post

Amazing version of this song. Intro is fantastic! And I've just watched anime with this song as a significant one for one of the characters... nice coincidence ☺️

Oh, Great Passage is good, dictionary making rather than translation but I love such work-centered mangas which show people's passion for a specific field

I've always wanted to read workplace manga with this topic but I only come across it being mentioned as a profession. Life in Smokey Blue comes to mind (doesn't delve into translation process too much but is amazing regardless!) and I got curious about Tokyo Salad Bowl but it's not licensed ☹️

I had a bit of an issue with the character of Yeonu, but Gyu-yeong was the one I was very invested in, his struggles felt genuine, I could totally get what troubled him. Sweet story and I'm glad the characters didn't give up at any point
