Another interesting fact: $$$. The Archive needs $20-30M a year, and 1/3 of that comes from donations. For comparison: SF Public Library needs $190M/year (if I heard correctly), that's just SF, not Bay Area.

The statues in pic 3 are half-size statues of all the employees who worked there for 3+ years. Imagine respecting your workers this much! Big tech never could.

Re: Amoeba Berkeley - "America’s largest (and best) independently owned record store" - I'm pretty sure the SF location is the largest, not Berkeley.
